Turks and Caicos or St. Maarten?

Anyone been to both of these islands and able to offer an opinion on which is better (overall) for beaches, relaxation and medium-entertainment (we are not party people by any means). Thanks!

I've been to both numerous times.

they are completely different from each other.

St. Martin: fun, nude beaches, bars on beaches, fun watching planes land at Sunset Bar, very hilly, has the best shopping in Caribbean, has some of the best restaurants in Caribbean. It's hilly, and has 2 personalities, French and Dutch. It has cruise ships. It has casinos and nightlife, and people watching, and "bustle". It easy to day trip to St. Barth, Saba, and for a completely different experience, Anguilla. (probably the highlight of your trip-Anguilla's beaches are far superior to St. Martin's.) No real decent snorkeling at any of this grouping of islands.

T&C: is flat, dry and scrubby, but has the best beaches in the world. The restaurants are really good, but St. Martin beats it for food. The settings for restaurants though win in T&C. The water is neon turquoise like no where else-it's all about the water and water excursions. No real nightlife, although there is a band on Friday nights at Calico Jacks, Danny Bouoys Pub, and on full moons you can find bonfire parties on the beach. Really T&C shuts down kinda early, usually by midnight. T&C is more about relaxing and chilling.

TC is way more relaxing and has better beaches in my opinion. I personally don't care for St. Martin. It was crazy busy with traffic and dirty. If I were you I'd go to TC.

Definitely Provo. It's safer, cleaner and more relaxing than SXM. The beaches on SXM cannot hold a candle to the ones on Provo. I just came back from Provo and I loved it. I have been to St. Martin a couple of times and it's really overdeveloped for its size and crime is becoming an increasing problem.

Thank you all for your responses. I'm leaning towards T&C
