Turks and Caicos Club
Just received a phone call from Travelocity informing me that Turks and Caicos Club shut down. I leave for my honeymoon in 11 days! Any suggestions on where to stay? Travelocity suggested Coral Gardens. Please help!

WAIT...T&C Club has been sold...and in the middle of a renovation. The new name is Beach House ( I think) I believe they are still open though! Call them directly. As far as Coral gardens--NO, older , busy beachfront, ugly unfinished building next door. I'd Check out: The Somerset, Regent Palms, West Bay Club, Point Grace, Windsong, The Sands..all are different price points.

My wife, daughter, and I will be staying at Le Vele resort in August. We called Turks and Caicos Reservations, www.turksandcaicosreservations.tc and they checked all over the island for us. Le Vele seemed like the best choice they came up with. It has everything we're looking for, good value, quiet location, and has a large section of beach. All the rooms are ocean front.
We walked around Le Vele while vacationing in January, and liked the quiet, kind of residential feeling. Very few other people around, it's not at all like staying at a hotel with people constantly coming and going. We only saw a few people on the beach that day.
Like caribzack said, Le Vele doesn't have it's own restaurant, there seem to be a lot of them nearby. You'll also have your own kitchen.

We stayed in La Vele for two weeks a year or so back. It was perfect. Nice rooms, you didn't have to worry about finding a seat by the pool or beach. Heck, you pretty much have a huge stretch of beach to yourself. Great place!

In all fairness to the Beach House, I don't think it is a question of not wanting to honor your reservation but not being able to. There are some fast and furious renovations and cleaning going on over there. Once it is finished it should be a fabulous place for a honeymoon. Unfortunately, just not in time for yours.
Enjoy and congrats.
