Turks and Caicos
Suggestions: Staying at the Somerset on Grace Bay with my 2 young nephews (age 1 and 4) sister and brother in law.. Any restaurants that would be kid friendly near by. Activities people liked? what about iguana island. tourist trap or fun? Thank you.

We have stayed at The Somerset many times--you will LOVE IT!
The Somerset restaurants (O'Soleil and Lunasea) are fine for families , walk next door to Bay Bistro- really excellent, beyond that Hemingways at The Sands-casual. The other way Plunge (poolside at Regent Palms) or beyond that Mango Reef also excellent and family friendly. Iguana Island-skip it , lame ! |
you'd need to taxi but tiki hut is always fun for kids. it's adjoining turtle cove marina with outdoor seating so boats to watch & the occasional gull if kids throw a french fry or piece of bread on the ground.
http://www.myturksandcaicos.com/menus/TikiHut_Menu.pdf there is ice cream at island scoop which is in the grace bay plaza & i can't recall where but there is pizza. other ideas: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Travel-g1...ly.Dining.html |
Caribzack is exactly right. You've picked a very nice hotel. We've not stayed there, but walked through earlier this year. The Somerset is one of the nicest hotels we saw.
This is a map we're using to plan our next vacation. It shows locations of hotels, restaurants, shops, all kinds of great information. http://www.turksandcaicosreservation.../provomap.html |
Wanted to tell all that my family had an amazing vacation. The somerset was beautiful. The beach was beyond spectacular. The only negative about the resort was the food, staff was beyond friendly. We did go on s half day snorkel trip which was fun. Meals at somewhere, mango reef, bistro bay all wonderful. I can't wait to go back.
