britany - Those are all very different islands. It would help if you could tell us more about you, your family and what you are looking for in a Caribbean vacation so we can make meaningful suggestions.

brittany: Aruba is very dry and Americanized, IMHO. It has been my least favorite island, thus far. There will be many more who will disagree with me. A plus for Aruba..the taxis were easy to find and we had a great sunset sail. The snorkeling is good.

Haven't been to St. Thomas.

St. Kitts....Just returned from our 3rd trip there. Very nice island, easy to navigate with a rental car, although taxis are everywhere. I recommend Leroy and Wilma Procope.
There is a lot to see and do...many beaches to visit. The food is wonderful. Again, many will disagree with me, but we love the Marriott. Great service and we like the casino at night for a diversion. The people on the island are absolutely wonderful and extremely helpful. I like the fact that you can get to Nevis easily, which is another favorite island of mine. Both islands are very lush and beautiful. While, SKB is not as built up as other islands, we have noticed a lot of construction in the last 3 years, so now might be the time to go.

Another island that we fell in love with was St. Barths this year. OMG>...wonderful food, views, people. Amazing. People say that it is expensive, but the only thing that we found to be pricey were the rooms, and since we don't spend that much time in the room, we didn't go overboard on that one. Just a thought for the future.

I had made my own thread on this topic with more details, but go no replies :-(
I'll just cut and paste it here. Thanks!

Hi. My mom has a Marriot Resort Timeshare and we are planning a family trip. There will be 6 of us. Myself, my signifigant other, My mother her husband and My Aunt and Uncle.
We have selected the dates of May 17th- 24th 2008. South Carolina is "her" time share. So she had to put in a trade for these dates for another location. Marriot has narrowed it down to Aruba, St. Kitt, or St. Thomas. We may not have a choice in this, but from what we offered what would be our best choice?
I have been told Aruba is HOT!! What is the average temp in May? From what i have researched there is really not much activity there, except water sports and maybe some shopping.
St, Kitts I have been told would be very relaxing, and just kind of a lay on the beack type get away.
St. Thomas seems to be the most active.
What are some experinces that you may have had at any or even better all three of these places? Open to any suggestions.

In addition to my origial post:

My mom and aunt will mostly want to ly on the beach. My step dad will snorkle and my uncle may want to scuba.
As far as watersports, we may be interested in renting jet skis/wave runner things one day.
I like to see things, i like to take pictures.
Shopping is not a huge deal, but might be nice for one days activity.
My bf and my aunt would prefer the casino.
We will be grocery shopping and cooking most of the time, but maybe 2-3 nights out for a nice dinner would be great!!

I have previously been to most of the hawaiian islands if there is any comparison there.

Again Thanks!!!
