Tropical Nature Vaca in Feb - Where to go?
I'm looking for a place to go in the Feb time frame that is warm, tropical, and somewhat private. I'm more of a nature lover than a resort lover. Likely going to try to find a small house/apartment to rent vs staying at a resort.
Places I've looked at are St. Lucia, St. John, St. Croix.
Are there others you'd suggest I research that would fit my description of more of a beautiful nature based island vs a busy resort type place? I'd love any help getting started on my research of where to consider.
I'll be traveling from Wisconsin and am hoping to keep the airfare under $600 which it is to those places listed above.

Thanks. I'm checking into Dominica as well. I had never looked at that so I'm going to do some research. I've looked at Negril in the past but always thought of it as a resort place. Maybe there's much more to it than that so I'll do some digging.
Any others that anyone would suggest I look at? What about St. Croix or St. John? These were both on my short list since airfare seems a bit more reasonable to these and I've never been.

I guess there are some resorts in Negril, but it is definitely NOT a "resort place". Look at www.negrilonestop.com to get an idea. There's a great map that you click on to see the various lodging options. There's plenty of cabins, rustic places to stay, especially up on the Cliffs.
