Trip to Puerto Rico

My husband and I are going to PR for our anniversary the following weekend. We are in our early 30's and like to go to nice dinners and out to enjoy some good nightlife/hotspot - club, bar etc. We're staying at the RC in San Juan can anyone tell us where we should go and what to do? Also, are there any romantic restaurants in OSJ?

If you are still looking for info.

Is RC the Ritz Carlton?
If yes then to get to Old San Juan you will need to take a taxi (fixed price) or you could take the bus or get a rental car. Plenty of things to see there - check out this pots on my blog

Not sure how long you will be here, butr another must see is El Yunque rainforest which is about 45 mins from your hotel. You can either take an organized tour or better still get a rental car and drive yourself. Why is that better - you can get there early to avoid the crowds and you can stay for as long as you like. Then spend some time at Luquillo beach which is close by. Another post here:

If you like beaches. consider a day trip to Vieques or Culebra (either take the ferry from Fajardo or a short plane ride from San Juan).

Other options: Ponce in the south, Camay caves or spilt your time on the island with a stay over in Rincon or Cabo Roja (west coast).

For Restuarnts - San Juan has some fantastic places:
Pikayo in the Museum de Arte is supposed to be one of the best - not been but will be sometime - not cheap
Pamela's is also a good spot - located in the Numero Uno Guest House - the restaurant overlooks the beach
Tangerine another one

In OSJ consider Carli's in the Old Banco Popular building - owner played with the Beach Boys and now regualrly plays jazz there.
Amadeus, tapas bar in El Convento (there is also another restaurant opposite this hotel but I can't think of the name - it is part of the hotel, so check out their site)
Tantra is also good if you like Indian Food.

For local cuisine look for Metropol, Ropa Vieja Grill, Ajili Mojili

Hope this helps

Take a walk over to El San Juan from the Ritz Carlton - it's about 5 minutes - for some nightlife. Live music, dancing, great lobby bar and a club with dj.
