Travelocity.com or what....

I never purchased tickets on line before but am thinking of it for tickets from Miami to Grand Cayman. How safe is the site - i.e.: to purchase on line? Any problems or has it been OK? Also, what other sites are there to get good deals.

Thanks for your assistance.

Lori

Lori, I have purchased tickets on travelocity a number of times. No problems whatsoever. Just remember to bring a printout of your itinerary (if you get e-tickets) as proof. My sister-in-law lives in Belize and used me as a contact person - when her flights were changed they called me twice to inform/confirm! Now that's service!

I have purchased tickets on-line many times and have always had good luck. The only problem that I've ever had is that I was sold seats on an overbooked flight at a busy time of year. I was bumped, got two free tickets for another trip, and was given first class seats on a flight out the next day.

I used Travelocity and lived to regret it. I will never use them again. They have been stalling our refund on 7 tickets for months (flight was canceled). I finally filed a dispute with my credit card. Travelocity's customer service recommended it if I was "in a hurry for my money"! Buying online is great but I will only buy directly from the airline. Use the travelocity's and expedia's to find out who has the lowest fare then book directly with the airline. If you use Travelocity, then pray you don't run into any problems because then you are sunk.

I fly from Newark and Hartford to New Orleans and back several times a year, as does my fiance, and we have never had a problem with Travelocity. I highly recommend joining their Preferred Member program as well. I love this site.

Lori:

You may want to try www.site59.com for bargain trips. You can only book 3 weekends i advance and it depends on how long you want to go for but they seem to have the best bargains. Just be careful that you cant do better with and actual travel agent. People assume that its cheaper to buy online but its not always the case.
I went to Cayman in Aug. and the Expedia and Travelocity was much more expensive then my local travel company.

Another good one that a few people I know have used is www.orbitz.com.

good luck
You will love Cayman
