travel to St. Lucia with teenagers
I like remote, and my teenage boys like a place where there is night life. Is the Reduit Beach area too touristy? Are the inclusives, like Rex Papillon, worth staying?
Can Dad find peace at Reduit Beach and the kids get night life as well?
Is Jalousie Hilton a place where teenagers, 16-18, can be found? It meets the remote need, but will it appease the kids?
thanks

Bob - I stayed at the Jalousie Hilton for ten days in February. My boyfriend and I had a great time, and loved the remote location of the resort (he especially loved the helicopter ride from the airport, and I'm sure your sons would too!) but I don't think your sons would have a very good time there. We saw plenty of younger children but really no teenagers. There's no nightlife to speak of, which was fine because we were looking for a relaxing vacation, but staff members actually commented to us that no one who goes to that resort stays out later than 9 or 10! Your sons could take a taxi to Castries for the Friday night Jump Up (?) but that's around $100, I think - we didn't do it. And we didn't go in to Soufriere at night, but I don't think there's much to do there, either. There's also a Wednesday night party at Bang, a great little restaurant just off the Hilton property.
Hope this helps!

I travel to St. Lucia often, and I can say that you can find a combination of what Dad, you and the kids are looking for in the northern part of the island. I'd suggest the WindJammer or Wyndham Morgan hotels. Also, you can look at renting a private house.
