Just got back 2 weeks ago after a full month in Havana. (Feb 6 to March 8th).
Where are you travelling from? How long would you expect to stay? What are your interests? Beach, Culture, Tourism, History/Architecture?

Went for the first time last October. Havana was fantastic but didn't enjoy Varadero too much. Havana is the most interesting city we've been to in the Caribbean.

We are heading there this holiday season, will most likely have 8 days including new years eve. We aren't interested in the resorts but more of the culture in the cities. will fly in and out of Havana, where else would you recommend? Where did you stay?

Stormy.....I'm sorry I couldn't help you out on the other Cuba thread...I hope you don't decide to go in illegally. As for hotels, we loved the Conde le Villanueva in old Havana (viejo Habana)...

If I can be of more specific help (photos, addresses, restaurant recommendations, etc), please write...this thread seems to have petered out.

As to a Havana hotel, why not go for something completely different and try one of Havana's beautifully restored Boutique Hotels?
Have a look at this Habaguanex Hotels website for some excellent suggestions.

Canuck when I click your link it asks for a user name and password

tower- I figured the program was on hold, it's too bad. Some of our party is from europe so not everyone has the legal issue.
