Travel between islands?

We would like to cruise to some of the Southern Caribbean islands. However, we don't want to go out of Ft. Lauderdale. We would like to fly into an island and then board a cruise that goes between a bunch of islands. Anyone know of such an itinerary?

Many cruise lines have itineraries that start in San Juan Puerto Rico. There are a couple (ones that cater mainly to Europeans) that begin in Barbados.

Yes. That was exactly what we did on our first cruise to the Caribbean - a more Southern itinerary to St Kitts, St Lucia, Barbados, Tortola and St Thomas. We did it out of San Juan, PR. It was great and we will do another next year out of SJ.

There are many that go to other islands, so many choices.

Look at the website, vacationstogo.com. Put in San Juan as your desired departure port and the time frame in which you are interested to see what is available.

There are other good cruise websites, but this is good to start.

Royal Caribbean has a southern Caribbean cruise out of San Juan.

San Juan and Barbados are the two most likely points of origin. You might want to look at lines like Windstar and Star Clippers, both small-ship cruise lines that often begin their itineraries in the Caribbean. But if you want a big-ship line, then most of those leave from San Juan.
