Transportation in Anguilla

We are going to be in Anguilla for 2 1/2 days. Is it pretty easy to get around without a car?

You should definitely rent a car.

There is no public transportation on the island. It is easy to get around by renting a car, or hiring a taxi driver (more expensive). It really depends on what you want to do.

Are you going for the Today Show wedding?

It depends on where you stay. We were at Meads Bay within walking distance of several restaurants, the beach and a mini-mart so we just hired a taxi to go anywhere else. We had a wonderful driver named Harold Vanderpool and we really enjoyed getting to know him. Car rentals are $40-45 per day plus a temporary Anguilla drivers license is $20 so unless you are planning to go out more than twice a day, I would use taxis. Also, sunset is before 6:00 and some of the restaurants might be hard to find in the dark!

Just a suggestion - if you are only going to be there for 2 1/2 days don't bother renting a car - just "cab it".
