Puerto Rico - where to stay

We're thinking of going to Puerto Rico for a week this winter. We want a beautiful white sand beach, nice resort and pool area and would like to be close enough to a variety of resaurants to be able to walk to them. Suggestions on area of PR to look or specific resorts would be great!

If you are looking for white sandy beach I do not feel PR is the best option location. Many nice hotels and great restaurant options near the Marriot if you are set on PR.

What is your budget and how far are you willing to go? I think both Grand Cayman ( though it can be pricey) and Aruba ( not as pricey) certainly fit your desire for a white sand beach within walking distance of restaurants, etc. better than most of Puerto Rico, although I have not yet visited Vieques. Good luck!

We LOVE Puerto Rico, but if you are looking for powder white sand and crystal clear blue water, it's not that island.

Now, Culebra and Vieques will fit those requirements, but there are no mega-resorts like you describe.

You might want to do some studying and make sure that PR is what you're seeking.
