We will be on a cruise to Jamacia and would like to know if it is best to take a tour of Dunn's River Falls or go to Negril Beach for the day?

Neither -- do MAYFIELD FALLS with a guide. E-mail carolyn barrett of barrett adventures @ [email protected]
for her sampler of privately-guided excursions island-wide. She regularly works with cruiseshippers.

I second tiv's recommendation....unless you are coming into Ocho Rios and not MoBay in which case Mayfield is a bit of a hike.

...though I am partial to Negril, it's the area of Jamaica that, in my opinion, is most likely to bring you back for a longer stay

Carl, keep in mind that if your ship comes into Ocho Rios, then your journey to Negril will be appx. 3-3.5 hrs each way! Mayfields is also quite a hike.

Even though many of your cruise ship companions will be flocking to Dunns River, I still think that's a better option than spending 6 hrs in some vehicle on the road.

If you will be arriving in Mobay, then definately go for Negril or Mayfields.

Assuming you've at least 5-6 hours in port, either Ochi or MoBay, MAYFIELDS FALLS, THE BLUE HOLE GARDENS, BLUEFIELDS on the South Coast are all easily do-able.
