Tortola Accommodation-Help!

My family are going to Tortola and have narrowed down the accommodation to Agape Cottages in Cane Garden Bay or Icis Villas. We have two teenage girls and I am wondering if Icis is too remote and quiet. Are there any other villas/apartments in Brewers Bay or will we only encounter the other Icis guests. Any help asap would be appreciated.

I once rented a beautiful 2 BR villa in Brewer's Bay, with pool and gorgeous open air design. My friend and her family also rented (and loved it) a couple of years ago. It is still advertised, but you will not find it on the internet - it is in the back of Caribbean Travel & Life Mag. Short (but steep) walk to the beach.

I will try to find the ad.

When I re-read your post, not sure if you're looking for additional accommodations or just wondering how much life there is around Brewer's. Anyway, I found two ads, the first one is a 3 bedroom house similar to the second, which is the one we rented. Both are on Brewer's I believe. Hope this is helpful.

I think that the girls would have a better time in CGB - Brewer's is lovely, but there's not really any other accommodations where they would meet a lot of folks. People do come in and out of the beach, and it's easier to keep your eye on them, but CGB is much more active.

Thanks, but I wasn't looking for more accommodation at Brewer's but just wanted a general feel for what it would be like. I get the feeling that Cane Garden Bay would suit us better and I have made enquiries to stay at Agape Cottages. I'm not looking for ultra luxury but does anyone out there know what Agape Cottages are like? And exactly how far UP the hill is it from the beach to the Agape? Thanks.

Me again - Linda, you might also try looking into Mongoose Apartments or Cane Garden Bay Cottages - sorry, I know you're at an 'already narrowed down' point re: accomodations, but both of these are closer to the beach on CGB than Agape and really nice!

I've already tried Mongoose - no availability for our dates. I have ruled out Icis (too remote for us) and now have to decide between Agape and Lighthouse Villas. The latter look very nice but are way more expensive than Agape. We are not looking for luxury but on the other hand we don't want anything too basic. It's hard to decide on a few internet pictures. Are Lighthouse really worth a 1000$ more (for a nine night stay) than Agape?

I've stayed at Lighthouse, and it's my favorite spot to stay at CGB - the views are awesome and it's just across the street from the beach. But it was a splurge, definitely, and while it's the nicest accommodation in CGB, it's not luxurious. Wish I knew more about Agape - have only heard good things about it, I must say. The most important two things for me are being able to get back to my room from the beach by way of a very short walk at night, and having a great view. You'd have that at Lighthouse, but honestly, it might not be worth the extra expense. Did you check out CGB Cottages - or are you at that understandable point of not wanting to consider any other lodging? I've no reason to push them other than the fact that they seem to meet your needs...

id you read the comments on Trip Advisor? Nothing but raves for Agape.

Gosh I'm amazed at the responses from everyone! Never used this forum before and it's really helpful. Well, I now have a quote from CGB cottages (two of their cottages are even less than one doube suite at Lighthouse, and come in between the price of Agape and Lighthouse.....)so I have the choice of three places and am driving myself mad. I guess in the end all would be fine. I will do as the last person suggested and read Trip Advisor reviews (again). I'm almost sorry there is so much choice, as it makes the decision harder.

PS. As you can see from the times of my posts, I'm either a nightbird or not in your time zone! Actually I'm in Belgium.
