Topless in St Barths
 

I will be heading there in a few weeks and am wondering if I am going to encounter a lot of topless sunbathers. I don't really care but I am just not used to it. What if any beaches might there be less of it at??<BR>

Yes, you will. This is a very European culture and pretty much every beach will have mostly topless sunbathers. Saline and Gouveneur will also have fully nude sunbathers, though not as the majority.<BR><BR>Relax, go with the flow. Use sunscreen and wear sunglasses.

I went to St. Barth's last June. Though there were topless sunbathers, even nude sunbathers, it should not bother you since the beaches are not crowded at all. We would see a handful of people, max, and they would be many yards away, especially at saline, goveneuer, colombier. It should not bother you and you won't look out of place if you keep your own lid on. Have fun! I loved it.

Thanks for the replys..I am not shy nor embarassed at all, but I don't think I will be going topless so I just didn't want to be the only one on the beach with a top on.<BR>Perhaps I will feel like taking it off when I get there but who knows.<BR>I sort of don't understand the reasons for it though.I can understand the no tan line thing but I can't see my self just sitting there with my top off..I don't know ??!!<BR>Maybe someone out there can explain it to me??<BR>

SINCE ST. BARTHS IS VERY EUROPEAN YOU WILL ENCOUNTER TOPLESS AT THE POOL AS WELL AS THE BEACHES. SALINE IS MOSTLY NUDE SO IF IT BOTHERS YOU STAY AWAY. GOUVENUERS HAS ALOT OF AMERICANS AND MANY WEAR THEIR TOPS..NOBODY REALLY CARES WHAT YOU DO... THE ONLY LOOKY LOOS ARE THE AMERICANS. BEACHES ARE NOT CROWDED SO FIND AN ISOLATED SPOT AND TRY IT...YOU MIGHT LIKE IT!
