Topless beaches
 

We are planning a Caribbean trip. My wife would like to go to a place where topless sunbathing is common enough she doesn't feel threatened doing it. We would prefer an english-speaking destination.

At nearly every beach in the US Virgin Islands, about half the people there go topless.

Nudity, including topless bathing for women, is prohibited in the USVI. There are several beaches where you might occassionally find someone who chooses to do so discreatly on St. Thomas and St. John (not familiar with options on St. Croix) and there is no "top police" so to speak - but you will find that the Nat'l Park Ranger might stop by on Salomon Beach and ask the c/o participants to put the suits back on!!

Try St. Martin. Although French and Dutch, English is spoken by almost everyone, especially on the Dutch side, where it is effectively the first language. Topless is very common.

I would agree. topless is no problem on St. Maarten. and if you want a nude beach, go to Orient Beach. people there are topless,bottomless,and fully clothed. you can do whatever you are comfortable with and no one pays any attention.
