Top 5 Restaurants on St. Thomas & St. John

My husband and I are going to be on St. Thomas in early May. We love Caribbean cuisine and are looking for simply prepared fresh fish (favorite is grilled) and simple sides. We like a nice atmosphere, but the food comes first. I'd appreciate your top restaurant recommendations for this type of cuisine on St. Thomas and St. John. We'll be a short ferry ride away from St. John and don't mind popping over there for a nice meal. (We've been to both islands before, but it was years ago.) We don't want to waste our precious days on poor meals and greatly appreciate your help in choosing the best spots to dine! Thanks.

NOTHING can even compare to Havana Blue on St Thomas. Gorgeous - and the food is to die for. Mim's out at Bolongo Bay is also excellent...don't be fooled by how this place looks by day...at night it turns into a very romantic evening with awesom e fresh fish.

I agree. Havanna Blue at Morningstar is outstanding!! Also excellent is Herve's. Both are on St. Thomas. On St. John, Zozo's is great, as well as Ten Tables, although it lacks the view of Zozo's.

Asolare----very good and fine dining on a hill overlooking Cruz Bay--Asian/Carib. food.
Morgan's Mango and Lime Inn---very good seafood.
Skinny Legs--best burger on the island.
Fish Trap was also good seafood.
Miss Lucy's for conch fritters, burgers and a good drive/view near Coral Bay side of island----you can squirt the chickens and goats under your table with waterguns.

The Lime Tree Inn on St John has delicious seafood and their specialty is lobster. They have lobster specials almost everyday and it is cheap!! It is very quaint and doesn't have the atmosphere that you might find in an expensive restaurant, but it is recommended by the locals, and it is very reasonably priced. The food is wonderful. Best seafood I had in St Thomas or St John!

OK, here is my short list.

1) Old Stone Farmhouse - Chef's sampler menu

2) Either Romano's or Virgilio's

3) Mafolie or Agave for the view

4) Oceana or Noche in frenchtown

5) Blue Moon or Mims for on the water dining.
