cantstayhome,
I kind of was wondering if you meant you'd get caught trying to smuggle *something* back home :) |
JAGIRL, lots of choices and you may find a deal or two at that time of year. http://www.bermudatourism.com

cmcfong,
I figured that it would be low season and that I shouldn't have a problem finding a place to stay. Another option for me is to stay with a relative. She'll be in Bermuda later this year so if things work out I'll stay with her. B-) But I might just check out all these places you guys have mentioned in your other posts when I get there...just for the fun of it! They all sound like such lovely places to stay :) |
At the risk of being redundant (not a first for me) I love Fourways. It is located mid island. The rooms are large and face the gardens. I am nearly always the lone guest when I am there. They take great care of me and I like that. Breakfast is brought to the room (usually by an unbearably gorgeous Italian waiter...but I digress). I love to sit on the balcony with the paper and a big pot of coffee slowly starting the day. I can walk to the ferry (five mins), the beach (a bit more of a hike), or the railway trail (five minutes). The rooms have kitchens so if I want to have my main meal at lunch, I can fix a light supper in the room.
On my last visit to BDA I booked a single at Waterloo ($140 per night) and they upgraded me to a massive king. WOW! That was living, but lightening doesn't strike twice so I am not counting on that happening again. Anyway, they are two of my favorite places to stay. |
cmcfong,
That is living! :) Have you ever spent Christmas day or New Year's day there? |
JAGIRL, no way - smuggling just seems way too stupid and I know how smart those German dogs are. As far as I'm concerned, no matter where the vacation is, what happens there, stays there!

Family commitments have kept me from spending Christmas and New Years in Bermuda...but I would love it. I love the holiday atmosphere and the gorgeous decorations.

Oh drats!
Now it looks like I won't be going to Bermuda this Christmas after all! :( Looks like Florida instead. Talk about disappointed! |
If it makes you feel any better, we had a beautiful Christmas in Palm Beach a couple of years ago. It's not Bermuda, but it was nice. Have fun!
What's dragging you to Florida, anyway? |
A family wedding. Had been trying to swing Florida and Bermuda but it's just not going to happen.
I suspect I shall be in Miami the entire time. Won't be so bad actually. Lots of family and friends will be there. But you know...I kind of had my heart set on Bermuda. Mayhap next year. |
