Tobago with children? car? villa?
I was wondering how Tobago rated as a destination with small boys. I'm thinking of going to Tobago (we're trying to decide which island currently but perhaps Turks & Caicos instead) next May. My son will be 3 then so I was wondering how the island was for him, ie water, was the sun to intense (also for me too), and those sorta things.
Also, it seems that it would be necesarry to rent a car on Tobago, how are driving conditions and driving on the left side (we're American)? And did anyone have any suggestion on villa/house rentals? Preferably on the beach but other locations would be ok seeing as we will most likely have a car. Thanks! |
There is an extensive Tobago villa/house review section at Steve Woolers' site:

I had to get my old pictures out to remember the name of the small inn/restuarant where we hung out when we stayed in Tobago..the Seahorse Inn. I think they have 4 rooms above the restaurant, but the British woman who owned the place also managed a villa that was just across a small, quiet road. I remember it being very inexpensive, but very nice. Another couple was there at the time and stayed upstairs and we shared the kitchen and living room area. You could hear the waves from our room and it was a very quick walk to Grafton Beach. And the Seahorse Inn had great food.

I highly recommend the Blue Waters Inn.
http://www.bluewatersinn.com/ It is right on the beach and has nice calm waters for the boys. I got by without a car and used taxis, but a car would be better. |
