Another question...I have recently heard about a Malaria scare in the DR..near the Punta Cana area. Were you concerned about that? Did you take anti Malaria medication?

Diana - loved the report! I, too, was reluctant to cruise, but by BF and I went on one for New Year's 2 years ago to try something different. I don't think I'd do it again, because I also like to explore places.
I laughed when I read your bar tab was $2000 for 4. Ours (for 2), was almost $1000. We hit the martini bar every night for cocktail hour, a bottle of wine with dinner, Spanish coffees in the piano bar after dinner, and of course - New Year's Eve! It was fun, but not cheap!

Thanks for pulling your report up Diana.I enjoyed the read.We had considered a cruise before.Now that I have read your report..I think that I will just stick to going to an island as I like to learn the culture,explore and do not wanna feel rushed to do things to get back to the ship.After this read..I think that I would like to go to Grenada and DR oneday.
