Tipping at Little Dix Bay,etc
 

Just made a last minute reservation to stay at LDB to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary, 5/23-5/28. Been reading details about the resort, but was curious about tipping at the resort. Any advice, experience would be appreciated--ie, the water taxi's, housekeeping,etc. Also, anyone use the spa services there?

You POSITIVELY did not.It was tasteless disgusting and out of order.Now to answer your question,there is a 10% resort fee.With all food and beverage services a 15% gratuity is added.If you purchase a meal plan--MAP or FAP,then a 15% gratuiuty is added to that as well.The "packages" include the 15% gratuity.I ususally dont do packages so I am not familiar with what they are and what the rates are.HTH and have a nice day.Its a beautiful resort.

You should tipp your maid and the waiters/waitresses at the restaurant. The new Spa is outstanding, make a booking for the Cliff Spa Day Suite or for a Couples Treatment.

I've stayed at Little Dix four times - we were told the 10% resort fee covered tips for housekeeping/luggage, etc. and 15% added to all restaurant/bar service (or if we were on a meal plan, the 15% added to the per diem on the meal plan)so we didn't need to tip on a daily basis (and be sure and add that amount in when planning the trip budget!) (plus 7% room tax). We did leave something extra for housekeeping at the end and gave a few tips at the end of our stay to favorite bartenders and the like. This summer we're taking our daughter so are wondering if we should tip the kids' counselors at the end of the week?
