Hi Christie
you were fortunate to have visited some very beautiful caribbean islands .out of st john , grand cayman & aruba
(am i missing t&c ?? )
which island did you enjoy the most & which the least.
on a scale of 1- 3 how would you compare each of them based on the beaches ,visual scenery , snorkeling , restaurants ,cleanliness , activities and the overall caribbean/tropical vibe

asp,
Thank you!

On a scale of 1 to 3 for favorite place...hmmmm? Here you go:
(3 being the best)
visual scenery: St John and Kauai:3
Grand Cayman: 2
Aruba: 1
snorkeling:Grand Cayman: 3
St John: 2
Kauai: 2
Aruba: 1

restaurants: Grand Cayman & Aruba: 3
Kauai & St John: 2

cleanliness: Grand Cayman & Aruba : 3
St John & Kauai: 2

activities: Grand Cayman,Aruba,and
Kauai : 3

St John: 2

For overall tropical vibe: Kauai!!Hands down the best!

For overall Caribbean vibe: It's a toss up between Grand Cayman and St John.

friendliness of people :Grand Cayman and Aruba get a 3.

My least favorite is Aruba.

My favorite island for just couples..is a toss up between Kauai and St John.

My favorite family destination is hands down Grand Cayman.

Hope this helps you with some planning!

thank you Christie , you helped a lot actually.
we are planning a family holiday this july with an 8 & 5 yr old & are leaning toward grand cayman over t&c , st john /st thomas usvi
quick question , how would you compare the beaches at palm beach to seven mile beach & trunk bay/cinnamon & magens bay
we like aruba alot but really for the nice beaches , great restaurants & friendly people but I must agree that it's not a very pretty or tropical island outside of the resort grounds.

I would definitely go to Grand Cayman. If you do...check out www.discoverypointclub.com we stayed there and it was the most perfect place.

It is on the quietier Northern end of 7 mile beach. It has a pool and hot tub on the beach.

Other activities I would suggest are the Butterfly Farm,Turtle Farm, the Blowholes and Smith's Cove for great snorkeling with a nice little sandy beach for the kids. They also have a skateboard park if the kids are interested.

Another GREAT beach is Rum Point. It has a shaded area that is great for the kids. The water is knee to waist deep for about 100 yards and very calm.We packed up some snacks and drinks and spent the day there. They have signs that say NO outside food and drinks...but no one said anything to us.

I would rate 7 mile beach ALOT higher than Aruba's Palm beach. It's not as crowded.

(I would rate Rumpoint even higher)

It's really hard to compare 7 mile beach to Cinnamon Bay or Trunk Bay because St John is a lush, mountainous island whereas..Grand Cayman is relatively flat.(but prettier than Aruba).

I really love Grand Cayman with the family because the island is easy to navigate and restaurants are wonderful.

Cinnamon Bay and Trunk bay are picture
perfect beaches with calm waters most of the time. But there is not as much to do for kids there.

My kids had a better time in Grand Cayman. It did not seem as hot as St John to them.(probably because we had the pool in GC )

If you are interested in Discovery Point Club...check out this website, click on specials and scroll down to Discovery Point :www.caymanvacations.com

Another good website to explore GC is www.caymanactivityguide.com

Good luck!!

Christie-

Glad to see you had a good time! I haven't been to the butterfly place yet so I guess that will be on our next trip. Don't they have some good restaurants! So do you think you'd go back?
