Taxis from Freeport to Port Lucaya Marketplace available?

Are taxis available from the cruise port in Freeport to the Port Lucaya Marketplace? What is the approximate fare and how far is it? We are reluctant to pay our ship's shore excursion price of $59 per person for a l-hour boat ride and a l and a half hour stop at the marketplace if taxi service is available.

Yes, the taxi's are sitting there waiting on the cruise ships. If I recall correctly, it was about $40-50, but that was for a van-ful of people, not each. It was about a 30 minute drive to Port Lucaya. There are also car rental places at the cruise port if you are interested in that. We loved Port Lucaya, we swam in the morning, had a nice lunch at the marketplace, my mom gambled at the Isle of Capri casino for a while. We took a snorkeling cruise in the afternoon that was nice. Saw a couple of waterspouts off the coast, was pretty neat. Definitely plan to leave the cruise port and go to Port Lucaya, not much at the port.
