Taking a baby to Curacao
We are taking our 8-month-old to Curacao. Will we be able to find diapers, formula and baby food in Willemstad? Any other tips we should know about?

The simple answer is YES. Not to sound smug but they do have babies in Curacao. You'll be able to find all the diapers, formula and baby food you'll need. Specific brands, however, may be different than you are used to getting "back home".

I recommend bringing anything baby related with you. The selections are usually not as wide as at home (brands, diaper sizes, etc). Plus you'll have more room then in your luggage when you come home for souvenirs! ;)

But kellybeaches I think would agree the same could be said for Trinidad, Barbados, Turks, etc.
|
StanKase, that is true. When traveling I always bring my own stuff for the kids, but that's just me. I've found islands with very barren food stores and pretty much nothing in the baby department while I was there (Virgin Gorda, St. Lucia) and islands that had just about everything we have back home (St. John, Long Island). Personally I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Curacao is a very well developed cosmopolitan island and you can find what you need there. You cannot compare Curacao with St. Lucia and Virgin Gorda..totally different species.

You will find most well known North American brands: Huggies, Pampers, Gerber, Similac. Great alternatives are the store brand baby items at Albert Heijn supermarket and DA drugstore.
