T&C with a Toddler. Immigrations/Customs Issues

Our child does not have a passport and will not before our trip. Anyone experience any issues with a child that only has a birth certificate when entering T&C or returning back to the US?

You don't say how old your child is but if you have an original (not a copy) "raised seal" birth certificate you should be OK. If the child has a government issued photo I.D. that would be helpful.

If you are not traveling for several weeks consider getting your child a passport. It will make traveling much easier. Usually takes about two weeks and cost is now around $90. You can pay extra for expedited service.

Under 5 years old. How often would I need to change the picture? Can't find any guidelines on the passport site.

We have a 3 year old who's been to T&C 5 times. Always with just the ORIGINAL birth certificate and been fine. It is a perfect beach for children. (and adults too)

We are bringing our 18 month old to T&C in a couple weeks. I called the airline and they said only an original birth certificate was required.

Thanks everyone.

We have the right documentation, just wanted to verify there have been no issues with us having a passport when the child does not.
