T&C - Provo - villa area question ...
I've begun doing some research on T&C - Provo. If my family goes, we are interested in staying in a villa on the beach. I've been to the different villa rental sites (vrbo, prestigious properties, aquamarine beachouses, and NorthPointe .. I think it was).
On all of these sites I've read mention of the villas being on different parts of provo: Taylor Bay, Chaulk Sound, Grace Bay, Long Bay, Leeward.
We'd like to rent a villa that is not associated with a 'complex of some sort' or condo situation... if that makes sense?
Does anyone have a detailed breakdown of the different areas on Provo I mentioned above? I've really liked the villas on Taylor Bay.
Thank you for your help!

Taylor Bay - Nice beach, shallow water for a ways out. Good for kids.
Chalk Sound - Water beautiful to look at, but not really for swimming. I've heard the bottom is not really sandy but chalky.
Grace Bay - Beautiful beach. It's where the resorts and most restaurants are located. Reefs for snorkeling by Coral Gardens and at Smiths Reef over by Turtle Cove area.
Long Bay - Beautiful beach, more of a residential feel.
Leeward - Beautiful beach, more of a residential feel.

We stayed at a villa in the Leeward area a couple years ago. We had great luck with http://www.tcsafari.com/ Le Salamandre villa was perfect for us with 2 kids. It is right on the beach, but you need to walk through a path. The owners live next door and they have a pony named Marley. Check it out - you will not regret it.

There are so many beautiful places to rent .. it's tough. We will mainly being snorkeling and swimming so I guess that helps eliminate Chaulk Sound and possibly Taylor Bay. When you say shallow is it shallow, but can still snorkel or knee shallow? Thanks.

Hi Katzen -
Taylore Bay is knee shallow. No snorkeling there.
Snorkeling is really on GB - but really on a couple of spots only. If you have a car, you can easily get to the snorkeling spots. Leeward is nice if you want away from the crowds but close to everything, driving is all on paved road.
