T& C--one adult dinner out?

Hi everyone, thanks again for all your help on Ocean Club; I've booked. Am thinking my husband and I can send our daughter one night to dinner and a movie and wonder where we should go for our one grown-up dinner? Also, do we need to reserve before we go down or is it okay to call once we get there. We like all kinds of cuisine and always enjoy upscale beach restaurants.

thanks again!

The Somerset just opened there restaurant and is suppose to be spectacular. Its called the O'Soleil.- Coyabas restaurant is one of the best on the Island, its just not on the beach.-
Magnolia's is set up on a hill near Turtle Cove Marina and great for sunset dinners, Great view

Anacaona restaurant. Very romatic setting and has a very nice lounge area.

I second Anacoana. Gorgeous location on the beach. The setting rates higher than the food though, imo.

Also love Anacaona...we loved Coco Bistro also!

ALthough Anacona is the most romantic restaurant on Provo found it to be a little inconsistent with rather small protions. I would recommend Coyaba or Magnolia our two favorites. You can make reservations when you get on island. The lobster thermidore at Coyaba is wonderful as is the Tuna at Magnolia if you are into tuna.. I would go an a wed Fri or Sat night for dinner and then stop by Anacona for a drink and listen and dance to live music

my vote is for anacona.

Feel free to add more!

There is a new resort called Amanyara. Look into their restaurant. The property is apparently magnificent. Possibly it will be too much of a hike since you are leaving your child, but just check it out (unfortunately their website is terrible, you'll probably get better info on tripadvisor for this one).

Anocoana is the only restaurant that doesn't allow children under 12 years old, so maybe pick that one because of that? All the other restaurants allow children. Anocoana has the best setting/ambience in the Caribbean.

For the best food though, I would try Coyaba, Magnolia, or Coco Bistro.

My opinion: the food at Amanyara is not worth the hike. It's a long dark unpaved rough road there-takes about 45 minutes. If you try to taxi it will cost you more $100 if you can even find someone willing to take you. You can call them to see if they can send a driver out-they charge around $75. Food is nowhere near as good as Coyaba.

Mary, glad you asked this. Always good to get recommendations for great food and ambiance! A woman I work with has a sister who lives on T&C (which I didn't know before I booked) and she is going to contact me with some insider "tips". I think they own a nice restaurant there - it will be interesting to see if it is one of the recommended ones. I'll fill you in once I get some info. Keep checking back here (or send me your email)!

Saltysmom--that sounds great; I'll e-mail you privately tomorrow when I get a chance; on my other post, I got tips on places to take kids, but I'll mention it again here in case people are still reading!

In other words, we'll take all restaurant recommendations!

Thanks everybody. . .

Mary
