T & C, Any waves?

My son likes to Boogie Board. Are there any good beaches/islands in the T & C's where the waves are good sized??

virginia Jan 5th, 2007 07:34 AM

not really. grace bay beach is protected by a barrier reef. waves are known to be small or more like almost flat calm.

SaltysMom Jan 5th, 2007 02:14 PM

I kind of figured that about Grace Bay but was hoping that maybe somewhere else around might be better suited for waves. We could boat there maybe. Any other thoughts, opinions??

No real waves anywhere, unless there is a huge storm with winds.

The closest to waves is on a beach in North Caicos-an all day trip from Provo.

Usually, all of the beaches there are calm and crystal clear like swimming pools.

Virginia was totally correct in what she told you.

Hi Blamona. Are you still in T&C or are you back in the real world? :-)

SaltysMom: I've been to T&C only once but we did a boat tour of several of the other cays. The water was completely calm.

I guess he will just have to learn to water ski instead!!

blamona Jan 5th, 2007 05:21 PM

I haven't seen water skiing, but plenty of banana boats, windsurf, small sail hobie cats.

I'm still here! 8-)

Surfing - I have never seen anyone surfing at any of the islands we have gone to but have seen them windsurfing.

However, doitcaribbean says there is surfing. Goto http://www.doitcaribbean.com/watersports/

or goto www.doitcaribbean.com click on search, search page will pop up, then type in Surf. Several different sites to goto pop up.

http://www.turksandcaicostourism.com...dsurfing/says:
More adventurous watersports are always available. The clear and calm waters offer excellent opportunities for windsurfers to perfect their technique.
