Swim with the Dolphins
 

Besides the Bahamas does anyone know where else they offer to interact or swim with the dolphins??? We are looking to go to Aruba or Cayman Is. and were hoping they offered this type of activity. Thanx

This question has been asked many times and I am sure if you do a search here, you will find many posts on this issue.
I ask that, before you make a decision to swim with the dolphins anywhere , you research the issue and the place thoroughly. Unfortunately most swim with the dolphin facilities are there for the profit motive and the dolphins are often misused and not cared for properly.

Barbara is correct - please be aware of what you are supporting prior to signing up for these types of activities. There are a ton of prior posts on here, many of which are very enlightening. I encourage you to seek them out, so you can make an informed decision.

I agree that you should choose a reputable/responsible organization if you're going to do this type of activity. The Roatan Institute for Marine Sciences, adjacent to Anthony's Key Resort on Honduras' island of Roatan, offers a dive/snorkel with dolphins. Roatan is a fabulous island, very laid back, and an especially excellent destination if you're into scuba diving.

I was lucky enough in a past job to work as a diver at Sea World, where I got to swim with dolphins as part of my job on a near-daily basis. It's truly an amazing and magical thing.

The dolphins at Anthony's Key in Roatan ARE captive dolphins ...? Much better , although a hit or miss type of thing is the encounters in the wild .

Yes, please, check and see if the dolphins are treated humanely! They are such beautiful creatures. It is great to have your chance to pet them and have your picture taken with them, but if it means they will soon be ill and die before their time, is it worth it? I'd research as much as possible!!
