I would go to Superclubs. My clients loved that hotel as an LTI because it is fairly new (I think only 4 or 5 years) and tons of activities. They brought me back pictures and it looks amazing. Superclubs is planning on adding a few touches and lots more activities so I think it would be awsome.

Do not pick the Allegro because it has slightly more seaweed at that far end of Punta Cana that the other resorts don't have. The SuperClubs Breezes resort is just two years old and adding more amenities so I'd pick that one. Go to this website for reviews of both (Breezes is labelled "Lti Sol de Plata Punta Cana Beach Resort" under reviews):

Occidental resort actually has nicer beach than Super Club ! I've stayed at Super Club when it was Sol de Plata , brand new at that time ,pretty hotel , beautiful pool but the beach is not the best stretch-It is beautiful to look at, but the waves there can get very rough...unless some people prefer waves! I've also stay next door to the Occidental , and there the beach was just GREAT ,very litle seaweed if any, lots of palm trees so it's really pretty, the water is beautiful , multi colors , the sand is the finest you'd find. I'm sure the Occidental is less money than Super Club too ,I would choose Occidental cause beach is importaint to me .

Actually, the waves depend very much on the time of year you visited the resorts. You might have noticed more waves at Occidental if you had visited there during "wave" season. If you'd like to see photos of the SuperClubs, go to this website:

Forgot to say...look at beach photos...just about no waves except out past the reef. Like all islands, the waves are greater during the stormy season (June to end of November...usually...can occur with any major storms passing by anytime during the year but more possibility at that time). It is true that the further north you go along Punta Cana shoreline, the greater the chance of waves but up to the SuperClubs at least, it's protected by the offshore reef. By the time you reach Secrets (one hour north), the waves are much bigger (no reef???). Hope this helps.

Fotos don't tell the whole story! I've been to Punta Cana 5 times already,ALL different SEASONS too ,the best strech of beach in Punta cana is Bavaro(right in the middle, where Occidental and some others are) not Arena Gorda (Super Clubs is on Arena Gorda !rough waves and not a lot of palm trees) Bavaro beach is considered one of the best in the world by many people.

Hi : We went to the Occidental Grand Flamenco in October/2002. The beach is amazing, there are beautiful palm trees, there is a buffet restaurant close to the beach and a pool with lots going on right next to the beach, there are two other pools also. We went by were the Breezes is and diffently we were not impressed. On that stretch of Bavaro Beach the Paridisus looked really nice and the beach was beautiful. Depends what you are looking for. We have been to many islands and this was the best value for the money we have ever had. Karen
