Grand Cayman Island
When you're in Grand Cayman you should check out a
restaurant called Hemingway's. It's an open-air restaurant
where you can enjoy large portions of Nouvelle Caribbean cuisine like
grouper stuffed with crab and sweet corn in a jerk
cream sauce. Candlelight and a guitarist make this
a romantic evening spot. The price is about $20-30 per person.

Last went to Cayman 6/93, plan on going 1/97. The resturant
at the Holiday Inn (where we stayed) wasn't too bad and
their Comedy Club was worth going to - their outside pavillion
bar (featured in movie The Firm) was fun w/Calypso music
each night. Can't remember the name of the resturant
across/down from the Holiday Inn but it was on stilts with
with windows all around, great Conch soup. And yes, best
snorkling trip was to Stingray City. Have Fun!

Our family visited Grand Cayman over Easter '96. We stayed at the Treasure Island which had a resort dive course for our 2 teenagers and also coordinated all scuba trips. We found that the least expensive dining was to visit the happy hours which have a wide variety of "heavy" appetizers that often substituted for our evening meal. We also like the VERY reasonable Lone Star restaurant that gave lots of food for a small amount of $$$$. Also, I would agree that the Holiday Inn, with the famous Barefoot Man from the movie"Cocktail" is well worth the visit. Have a great time.

for a nice view of georgetown harbor try the lobster
pot! but be ready to pay. try some rum cake. go to the holiday inn to sleep it's very clean and right on the beach. plus you can hear the bare foot man and his calypso band. if you shop you should do it in the morning because georgetown rolls up the sidewalks around 6:00 m-s sunday is not a good shopping day. dive stingray city!!!!.
