Suggestions for girls budget getaway in July
Hey all,
We are thinking about doing a short (3-4 days) girls getaway in July. I’m 28 and the other two ladies are 26. We aren’t looking for partying or anything. We just want to relax on the beach with some drinks!
We are not interested in Mexico/Jamaica/DR for this trip but are definitely on a budget so suggestions for any affordable, smaller hotels would be key (accommodations with kitchenette a plus).
I saw some good deals for Sand Castle on the Beach in St. Croix and Comfort Inn Paradise Island in the Bahamas…anyone been to either?
If you think we’d be better off in the States, any suggestions are welcome too. Miami? Fort Myers? As you can see I'm pretty lost.
Any ideas are welcome!

P.S. Leaving from JFK/Newark and it has to be a non stop flight due to our limited travel time.
P.P.S. I know July is hurricane season...I've traveled to the Caribbean in July before...not too worried.

I found a package for $600.00 (per person) for 4 nights at Port of Call Resort & airfare. Is that a good deal or would I be better off looking for a smaller hotel? I know nothing about T&C.

T & C is relatively expensive destination. We stayed at the Sibonne directly on Grace Bay, which was the least expensive accomendations at that time on Grace Bay Beach. We enjoyed it. It's a small 26 room boutique hotel. You really need a car to get around to various dining/bar options. Taxis can add up quickly. Also look at the Somerset and Alexander. I believe those hotels offer kitchenettes.
I have to agree, what is your budget? It's difficult to make recommendations not knowing. What might be budget to you may not be budget to anyone else.
I wouldn't worry too much about hurricanes in July either. However, the wet heat is more of an issue. We about died in Florida in a July. It was miserable.

Sorry! We would like to keep it around $600.00 per person for accommodation and airfare. I've been looking around and it seems posible for a 3/4 night trip.
I looked at T&C but even off season would be way too expensive for this trip
I am finding packages within our budget for Puerto Rico, St. Thomas (dangerous?), Cayman Islands (but it's expensive to eat/drink on the island due to exchange rate?), and the Bahamas.

As an example I found the renaissance and sugar bay beach in St. Thomas and the Sheraton Resort/Casino in the Bahamas well under our budget..we are looking for a smaller, more relaxed hotel/resort though..

We spent $600.00 bucks for airfare and 5 night accommodation in Barbados during HIGH season so your trip is definitely possible. It's eating/drinking out that is going to kill you. I am assuming your budget does not include food?

Too bad you excluded Mexico. It's going to be the best budget destination out there. You can easily do an AI resort with the limited budget and then not have to worry about coming up with extra funds for food and drinks. Any of the RIU resorts in Playa del Carmen would work. If not interested in an AI then there are many boutique hotels on and around 5th Avenue in Playa del Carmen. 5th Avenue has tons of restaurants and bars in all price ranges.

My neighbors just got back from Cayman. They said food and beverage was really expensive. On average - $50.00 for lunch and $100.00 for dinner. And that's not going overboard with drinks and not fine dining.....
