Suggestions for Bermuda
My wife and I are taking a 7-day cruise out of Philadelphia, PA in August. All meals are provided on-board BUT we would like to have lunch one day at a really nice place. Fodorites-any suggestions? What else should we NOT MISS while we are there?
Thanks. |
If you Snorkel, do it in Bermuda, water is so clear it is amazing. I went with Jesse James, leaves from Hamilton where your ship is sure to dock and where some fine restaurants are. Enjoy

For a delicious lunch with a view of the harbor go to the Underwater Exploration Musuem and have lunch in the restaurant there. It is very good. An alternative without a view is lunch at Ascots. For an ocean view have lunch at the Reefs. Take a ferry ride across the harbor. Best public transportation in the world. Go up to Fort Hamilton for a gorgeous view of a gorgeous country. Have a wonderful trip, Bermuda is another world.

I agree with cmcfong, all the restaurants mentioned would be very nice. I would also suggest The Waterloo House, charming,
upmarket Bermudian-they have garden dining. Another alternative would be to get a taxi (10 minutes or less)to Ariel Sands--dine at Aqua. I also love the view of all the beaches as you ride along South Road-nice view on the way to The Reef. Bermuda is a unique sophisticated island. One and only for sure! |

For things to see/do search Bermuda on Fodors.com. There's a recent post titled 'Bermuda Help' with lots of good suggestions. While we were there two couples from a cruise ship had a cab drop them off at Church Bay which offers some decent snorkeling. |
