Straw Market and Poop Deck

Greetings!
I will have a Sunday and a Monday free to explore the Bahamas. Does anyone know if the Straw Market is closed either of these days? And... How would I make a dinner reservation for the Poop Deck? I've not been able to find a web site or phone number. Thanks for any help!
Hi Carol,
There's a website www.bahamas.com which lists several restaurants, etc.
The Poop Deck is there. Tele # is (242)393-8175.
I was at the Straw Market on a Saturday, don't know if they are open on Sundays. I would assume they would be open on Monday. Good luck finding more info! Tricia

Carol; The Poop Deck has two locations. The one on East Bay Street is at the above phone number from the Tricia's post. There is a second Poop Deck on West Bay Street at 327-3255 at Sandy Port. The Sandy Port Poop Deck is closed on Mondays. Make reservations, and get there at 5 for Happy Hour, which is from 5-7; the hors d'oeuvres are great, and are free! Do not eat any lunch, come hungry. Many thanks to you both!
Isn't one of these near Atlantis on Paradise island? Would that be the Sandy Port? Seems like many restaurants are closed on Mondays.
Anybody else know about the Straw Market hours of operation?
Thanks again!

Hi, Carol; the Poop Deck on East Bay Street is open on Mondays, the other one is closed, at least when I was in Nassau last in January. Walking east on Bay Street, you'll pass the Paradise Island Bridge, heading east, and you'll see Bahama Divers on your left, about an eighth mile past the PI Bridge. The Poop Deck is above the dive shop. It is not on Paradise Island, but in Nassau. We used to enjoy walking from PI across the PI Bridge, and then turn left and walk the short distance to the Poop Deck. Hint: Do not do this at night time; Potter's Cay is underneath the PI Bridge, and although a fascinating place to visit during the day, don't go near it at night time. So, if you get through with dinner at the Poop Deck after dark, I'd take a taxi back to your location. Don't flag one down yourself, have the great staff at the Poop Deck call one for you; the Bahamas have a problem with Haitian immigrants, and many have their own "private" taxi's, masquerading as Bahamian taxi drivers, who are above board and have set fees they charge. Doing otherwise and you may pay twice the normal fare. Robert
