Still on hotels...
My fiance and I have decided to stay at Cap Juluca for sure for a few days of our honeymoon...and are looking for a less-expensive hotel to balance out our stay. Initially we were thinking Ku, but I'm curious if anyone has any other recommendations? Another option is Frangipani (but worried about construction there). Have also heard that Turtle's Nest is nice (but same issue). Any help would be SO appreciated! We'd like to book this week :)

Stick with Ku -- it's lovely and on one of the best beaches in the Caribbean. There is construction next to Frangi and the hotel itself has been approved for 75 new rooms -- don't know when that is starting.

Ok, thanks Mary. I really do appreciate your input! By the way, I found rates for Cap Juluca on http://www.hotel-caribbean.com, which are significantly cheaper than other rates I'm finding online (as well as through our travel agent). Is anyone familiar w/this website? Is it reputable?

I used hotel-caribbean for my recent stay in St Martin, no problems at all. I wold use them again. That hotel was a lot cheaper thru them, than thru the hotel. I noticed for Ku that their rate includes the taxes. Maybe ask if Cap Juluca can match the rate?

Thanks for the post, I also have a reservation at Cap J which runs about $100 less per night when booked through the web site. I intend to ask for the lower rate -- we'll see if they honor it. Otherwise I'll just cancel and rebook through the website.

I asked Cap about honoring thelower rate, but they said I'd have to cancel and rebook. FYI.
