St Thomas lodging before flight home

We are looking at booking a trip to St John. It looks like the flight out of St Thomas is in the early morning so we thought we would take the ferry to St Thomas the day before the flight and spend the day. is there anywhere you would recommend we stay for the last night of our trip? Anything we should do that day?

If you want to stay close to the airport, either Island Beachcomber or Emerald Bay are very close. As to what to do, what do you like to do?

We like to relax on the beach and explore other cultures and places. We will just have come from two weeks on St Johns, so might be looking for something other than beaches at that point. Are there any particular sights of interest?

As for lodging, the island isn't that large, so I would be willing to look into anything within 30 minutes of the airport if you thought another place was worthwhile.

One additional question. Some traveling companions of ours will be spending 4 nights on St Thomas at the end of their trip. What part of the island do you recommend and why?

Well, lots of options. If you want historic: Crystal Palace, a B & B run by a 4th generation St Thomian in his family home. If you want a re-introduction to the world, Frenchman's Reef with spa, swim-up pool bar, etc. Your friends may want something like that or they might want something on the east end of St Thomas close to the fun in Red Hook.

No swim up pool bar that I saw at the Marriott Frenchman's Reef unless it is in the Cove area. I personally was not that impressed for the price. No beach at all at Frenchman's Reef as it is on a bluff. Morningstar beach is okay. The view at night however is fabulous! If I spend the night again on STT at the end of a trip, it would probably be Island Beachcomber. Not fancy, but, a nice enough place to lay your head for the night.
