St. Thomas Car Rental
 

Thanks to recommendations from this site, we are staying at Secret Harbor in March and I think it makes sense for us to rent a car (yes?). We will want to go over to St. John at least one day and I recall a reference to making sure you rent a car from a place that will let you take the car on the ferry. Can you all recommend which company I should try (I saw on another post that Hertz was already booked so I think I better get on this!).

When we went to STT we rented a car at the airport through a major company (Hertz. Avis, I honestly forget it was 11/05) and we stayed at the Wyndham which is right next door to your hotel. We loved having a car. We took the ferry to STJ with the car and enjoyed driving around. We had rented a mid size and the car looked so beat up I took pictures to prove it looked like that when we got it. Most people rec getting a jeep for STJ but the car did fine on the hills to Cinnamon Bay. (Drive the extra to this beach instead of Trunk Bay) We were married on the beach here and it is just beautiful!

That's funny about the car--my husband just rented a car here in D.C. to drive to Harrisburg, PA for business and the bumper was a mess when he brought it home--I made him take a picture, too!
