St. Thomas Airport Transfer?

My husband and I are planning a trip to St. Thomas in September. Our hotel does not offer hotel transfers. Should we just grab a taxi from the airport (what we would normally do as it's the cheapest and most common thing to do in NYC, where we are from) or should we arrange transfers with a company ahead of time?

just grab a cab...ask him/her what the fare is.....fyi - many cabs do not leave until they have a full house which may mean a few stops.....

Rates to various spots on the island are posted so just get a taxi.

Tropic Tours has a booth at the St. Thomas airport and they run pre-arranged transfers for several hotels. THey also take walk ups and things went very smooth.

The use those open air trucks converted into passenger carriers with 5 rows of bench seats.

The only limiting factor in taking a cab is the time you are arriving. If you're arriving late, many times there's no cab available. Cab fares are posted at: http://www.usvi-info.com/infousvi/taxis-stt.html. If you are arriving late, program this number into your cell phone - 340-771-1013. Sam's Taxi.
