Going to STT end of December- have condo at beach resort- My biggest decision may be what color umbrella do I want in my drink?
Please suggest other activities/restaurants that are 'low-key'. In advance, thank you for your suggestions/comments. |
Whereabouts are you staying and for how long? Are you into watersports? Sightseeing?

Here's a few things we did on our trip:
Island Tour of St. Thomas and St. John, which included shopping. A day at Coral World. Did the Sea Trek and then spent the afternoon at Coki Beach. New Horizons II boat trip to the BVI's. The highlight of the entire trip. Wed. night live entertainment at Paradise Point. A fun evening. Drinks at Duffy's Love Shack in Red Hook. Hanging out at the pool and beach at our hotel. |
ttt the new horizons trip. stops st. john for customs then to the baths to explore/swim. next to marina cay for lunch at pussers. there is also a pussers store with cuban cigars among other things. from there you head to guana cay/monkey point to snorkel and finally jost van dyke to swim to beach for cocktails at the soggy dollar and t-shirts. (actually i had an ice cream bar here - it really hit the spot!) the crew was great and started offering muffins and pain killers right after we left the dock (shrimp cocktail and fruit later). this was an excellent excursion.
imho duffys is a smidge touristy but def a jumpin place. magens beach is beautiful. go early in the day, and try for a no ship day. a day trip to st. john would give you the chance to see another island. if you do nothing else eat dinner (preferably when the moon is large) at HAVANA BLUE, at frenchmans. it is beautiful to look at and the food is outstanding, but def not to formal to enjoy. another great restaurant is the blue moon cafe at secret harbour. i guess you'll do some of your own cooking. with this in mind i always take a cooler full of meats, butter, some premade appetizers to bake, juices, etc. these all freeze well and are extra pricey on island. use a wheeled cooler. don't tape it shut. but bring a roll of duct tape and customs will tape it when you leave your home airport. keep the roll to reuse on way home when cooler is filled with duty free booze, t-shirts, etc. |
Go snorkeling at Coki beach. They give you dog biscuits, and the colorful fish swarm you. Get a milkshake (with rum) at the Dairy.
