St. Martin in March

Please help - I'm a Western Cdn. and I'm experiencing a lot of difficulty trying to find a reasonable rate to fly from Western Canada through to St. Martin. We're invited on a one week catamaran sail which we would love to do but so far the airfare seems outrageous - are they any excursion rates anyone is aware of from Canada or perhaps from a city in the States that we could fly to? Right now we're looking at around $1500 US pp which equates to approx. $2000 Cdn. pp. Thanks

There are often decent fares out of JFK. I know I typically pay $500 flying the reverse route, SXM to JFK.

Don't know where you would be flying from out west, but there are direct flights thru gotraveldirect from Ottawa but only on Saturdays, and only after Jan 28th.

There are a number of charters from Canada to St. Martin. Have you tried Skyservice or Air Transat? I know you will have to connect in Toronto. Westjet may have some direct flights. Don't give up.

I'm fron Western Canada too... we are going to St. Maarten in March as well but using frequent flyer miles - a friend did check out airfare and was quote almost $1,600 CAD. That is outragous. I do fly into the states quite a bit though... how about pricing out two separate flights... i.e. a direct flight to a major hub like Denver or even Chicago. Typically you pay around $500 CAD (taxes in for that) then try from the states to St. Maarten and price that out. Just a suggestion - not sure if it will work.

Good luck in finding something affordable.
