St. Lucia vs. Turks Caicos?

Which of these two islands would you recommend for someone who likes diving, snorkeling and hiking. Your thoughts would be most appreciated.

These destinations are quite different, in geography, temperament and most everything else. Diving is much better in T&C (with the wall off Grand Turk being wonderful); I haven't snorkeled both but based on what I've seen diving, I would probably rate them pretty much even. Based on topography, hiking would probably be better in St. Lucia.

Suggestion: pick one at random this year, and visit the other next year! They are both fun places with lots to do (except little to do on Grand Turk).

I've been to both. Agree with the last poster - they are extremely different. There is no hiking in Turks - in fact, not much to do other than diving/snorkelling. There is nothing to see on the island other than the beautiful beach and water. Turks is very dry and does not have much vegetation/trees or anything green for that matter.

The posibilities are endless in St. Lucia. It is a beautiful lush island full of hiking trails, day trips to botanical gardens/volcanos and markets. The snorkelling is good - but Turks is significantly better.

If diving and snorkelling are a priority go to Turks. If you want to see/tour the island go to St. Lucia.

LR

Fabulous Beach and snorkeling - T&C
Only place you can do a bit of hiking on Provo is at the end of Malcom Roads - We have hiked along the shoreline between pretty deserted coves as far as a natural bridge rock formation.
St Lucia - Hiking should be good, beaches OK

Look into Ti Kaye Village Resort in St. Lucia--has a very good scuba program. Website is tikaye.com

Agree with the previous posts. We love to snorkel and hike although we're not divers. St. Lucia would be my preference of these two.
