St. Lucia Trip Report – A Snapshot
Early 60s couple – an early February break from winter with 11 days in a villa rental in the Bois d’Orange – between Rodney Bay & Castries near the Windjammer Resort. We rented the Cinnamon Beach Villa. A large very private house on a hill with great views of Trouya Point & the sea beyond. It fit us like a glove. The negatives posted in recent TA reviews have been attended to.
Best restaurants of the trip: Jacques Waterfront Dining in Rodney Bay. Orlando’s in Soufrière.
Best tourist activity: Tet Paul Trail.
Best local rum: Chairman’s Reserve Forgotten Casks
Best supermarket in Rodney Bay: Super J
Weather: Constant mid-80s during the day for the whole time we were there. Leave your sweaters at home. Brief near-daily showers rolled through with one unusual 24 hour spell of rain.
Words to the wise: If you rent a villa where they don’t spray, come prepared to deal with mosquitoes at nightfall.

Ian: When we were in Soufriere in 2008, we ran into one of the guys who was working on the Tete Paul project. With typical St Lucian kindness, he invited us to see it. He led us on a hike of the not-quite finished trail and said we were the first visitors there. I am glad to hear that it is doing well.

Yes, they seemed to be doing well. As you probably know, it is a co-op employing only people from nearby villages so it doesn't have the flash of a typical tourist haunt. The views are incredible. 10 US pp.
