St. Lucia Ti Kaye Village Vs. East Winds Inn
 

Hello everyone,

I would like some help choosing a place for my fiance and I's honeymoon at the end of July 2010.

We are between two "popular" choices right now. Well "popular" on Trip advisor anyways. I just had some concerns maybe someone familiar with the resorts can help me with.

The East Winds seems more up our alley however I do find it quite far from the Pitons looking at a map of the island. Not knowing anything about the road conditions. I don't know how long it would take to get from the hotel to the famous landmarks. Even though I will be with my new wife most of the time just relaxing on our honeymoon, I am also a photographer and would like to make my way to the Pitons a couple of times during different times during the day while on our week long stay. It seems like it would be a long and expensive drive. Does anyone have any information on this, as far as cabs and renting a car for the day.

The Ti Kaye Village Resort seems much closer to the Pitons, but some of the reviews of the beach and all the stairs and the price of food seems to sway me towards the East Winds.

Can someone please give us a little advice? Thanks you so much in advance for any help. =)

We r going to Stonefield in 9 days which is next to the pitons...but we looked at both of your propertys. FRom my hours(lol) of research I can tell u that Ti Kaye is closer to the pitons...but still not on the doorstep, and the road down to Ti Kaye is supposedly bad. IMHO, East Winds Inn is a little more formal/ upscale while Ti Kaye is relaxed/ upscale. Odd there were bad reviews of it's beach as its known to be a great snorkeling beach?

Both taxi rides will be expensive to the pitons...that I know. So I'd just set that aside & go with the hotel thats a better "fit". They r both beautiful.

But why not look at Ladera, Anse Chastenet or Jade Mountain????

Ladera, Anse Chastenet or Jade Mountain seem too expensive for us, or are not all inclusives. You have to add meal plans and they sometimes are over $150 a day per person.

Just read that Ti Kaye doesn't include alcohol on their all inclusive as well.

So it looks like I will be staying at the East Winds and just renting a car for a day or two to drive down the coast to the Pitons.

On selloffvacations.com they offer All inclusive for Anse & Jade Mountain.....as well as East Winds Inn & it's the most expensive on that site! Glad you got a good price, it's a little gem.

Went to Ti Kaye with my wife and two teenage daughters last year for a family vacation. Ti Kaye is set up for the Honeymoon and not really for a family vacation although we had a great time. Very much out of the way with the only place to eat is in the dining room (open air) or down by the beach for lighter fare. Best to have Ti Kaye bring a rental car in for your use. Not bad prices for rental car. Yes, food is on the expensive side but good. Nice small pool, out door bar, good snorkling, good beach........enjoy.

Regarding the beach at Ti Kaye -- in my opinion, it's one of the nicest in St. Lucia. However, it is NOT your prototypical white-sand-as-far-as-the-eye-can-see Caribbean beaches. It's a small crescent of nearly black sand, with very clear water and palm trees very close to the water's edge. I really like it, but it's not for everyone.
