St. Lucia Sugar Beach Viceroy
 

Hello Fodorites. We have just booked for November and are just wondering if anyone has been recently and if most of the hotel is fully functional. Also, we generally like to be pretty casual when on an island vacation. If the Sugar Beach a bit more formal. The hotel gets great reviews. We are in a Luxury Villa. Anyone have suggestions on room location? Thanks.

I can't help you with this resort, but St. Lucia is one of the most interesting islands in the Caribbean and well worth looking beyond beachfront accommodations. I'm a big fan of https://www.fonddouxresort.com/ where you can walk among the fruit and cacao trees. The Lamontagnes are wonderful, hands-on hosts. They have rescued historic homes and buildings from certain destruction and developed their land in St. Lucian style. Just so you know that there are other options.;)

Did you end up going? How was it? I see tons of people on Instagram posting from there and it seems like it's all open. I tried booking for us after Christmas. Completely booked.
