St. Lucia-rain in July

Hello fellow brides and grooms...earlier this morning I posted a question with regard to rain in St. Lucia...I did not post in the title line "St. Lucia", hence this 2nd posting. My fiance and I are getting married on July 16th (next week), and the forecast has been saying rain every day for the past couple of weeks. Has anyone been in St. Lucia over the past few weeks that can tell me...does it rain all day long, or does it rain at some point during the day, and then clear up??? I appreciate your comments on the weather on the island : )

As St. Lucia is a very lush and beautiful island, you will probably have mini-showers each day in July. When I've visited the island in the summer we had 2-3 brief showers lasting 5-30 minutes each. Although it's possible that a storm front will move in while you're there, it is more likely that you will have periodic cloudbursts and then sunshine in between. Hope you have a beautiful wedding and congrats! Please post a trip report upon your return.

Oops--meant to say that we had 2-3 brief showers DAILY, not for the entire week. You should still have a wonderful time, however!

We have been there several times on daily trips in which it generally does rain for a short while. The lush Islands are as lush as they are because of the rain showers. I would expect a daily shower and that should be it. Happy Wedding.

We were there several years back late July or early August for a week. It rained 90% of the time we were there leaving us with very little sunshine to enjoy the island. As a result, I would not go back -- I enjoy mostly sunshine and did not find that here. If you look at the statistics for rainfall in the Caribbean, St. Lucia gets a lot more than most islands.

Another comment --

After spending a week in the rain in St. Lucia, we flew back to Barbados (where we started our journey) and fortunately we had a week of wonderful weather -- no rain.

Thank you for your responses....I have been to many islands (always in the winter I may add), and did check for huricanes in St. Lucia for July...but forgot about the rainy season preceeding the huricanes. This will be my fiance's first trip to any island, and I pray for this first experience for him to be the begining of a lifetime of island travels for he and I for a lifetime together. : )
