Could someone please tell me how to pronounce the following words: <BR> <BR>Anse Chastanet <BR>Jalousie <BR>Soufriere <BR>Castries <BR> <BR>I have been researching a honeymoon places for me and my fiancee, and I keep stumbling over these names! <BR> <BR>Thanks in advance!!

Phonetic spelling of French words isn't my specialty, but I'll try: <BR> <BR>ahns shahstahNAY <BR>zhahlooZEE (first syllable is like "Zsa Zsa" Gabor) <BR>soofreeAIR <BR> <BR>And finally, we pronounced Castries as "CAStreez" -- I'm sure someone French wouldn't pronounce it that way, and to be honest I can't remember if locals put the emphasis on the first or second syllable and am not sure if they pronounced the "s" on the end or not, but that's the way we said it.

Okay, I think I've got it (after looking like a little silly while sounding them out at work!!) Thank you for your help on this question and for posting so much about St. Lucia...you have some great information and thanks for sharing it!! <BR> <BR>Can't wait to tell my girlfriend about St. Lucia (and not sounding like an idiot while doing it!)
