St Lucia: Landings vs. Windjammer

I am looking into staying at either Landings or Windjammer with my family of four (2 parents, 2 teens) in March and am looking for pros and cons for each place. Ideally I would like to stay by Pitons but budget won't afford a beachfront property there. I would book either a two or three bedroom villa. We are not big on all inclusive, but would consider it. Two of us are into diving, we all snorkel and enjoy boating. My understanding is island is large and difficult to get around. Am also wondering about eating out, ease of sightseeing etc. we have never been to this island, but have traveled to St. John, Tortola and Turks before. Thanks in advance.

If scuba is a priority, then the Soufriere area is where you should be.

Windjammer and Landings are both in the north where most of the activity is but Landings is closer to the action. It is not difficult to get around the island. I wonder where you hear that from. You can either rent a van for the three or four days to do sightseeing or hire a driver with his van to take you around. The latter would be my choice.

In Rodney bay area there are many good restaurants also as well as malls, caffes, bars and even a casino.

You may want to have a read of my personal blog on St. Lucia which has a lot of interesting information.
