St. Lucia in September

I think we have finally decided to honeymoon in St. Lucia. From all of the great reviews it sounds like it has everything we are looking for. My only concern is that we would be there during the first part of September. Has anyone been there in Sept. and if so how was the weather?? does it cool off in the night? (what to pack)

We went last year at the end of August and it was pretty hot -- about 85, and at night I would guess it only got down to about 80. If you can get air conditioning, go for it. But a decent fan might do the trick too. It did rain daily but usually only for a few minutes to 1/2 hour, maybe twice per day and then the sun would be back. And we stayed in the south where it usually rains a bit more.

St. Lucia is very casual but no swimsuits at restaurants (obviously). Even at the nice restaurants I was comfortable with a short khaki skirt and top but you can dress up more if you want. Bring walking shoes (tennies) if you plan to check out the rainforest or Pigeon Island, etc. Otherwise, sandals, shorts, tanks and swimsuits should do it for the most part. Might want to take bug spray. The no-see-ums can attack. I didn't get hit much but my husband did.

From what I have read it is hurricane season but the chances of one are slim. Especially with the ABC islands and the more southern islands, like St. Lucia.
