St. Lucia Activities
I will be going to St. Lucia in June and am trying to put together some ideas of some neat things to do there. Does anyone have any special tips on not so well known excursions or activities in St. Lucia?

I can tell you what not to do. Don't waste your money on the deep sea fishing (at least not with Mike's). You'd have to actually pay me to do it again, and even then I might not go. And I love fishing.

In what part of the island are staying?

In the south, if you're adventurous and in great shape you can climb gros piton. A guide takes you and it costs like $20 per person. Takes about three hours. Take LOTS of water. Good view at the top but not 360 degrees.

In the north, eat dinner at the Coal Pot at Vigie Harbor.

Can't really think of any other "not so well known" activities.

I suggest that you visit Marigot Bay. Although known to tourist is very quiet, and a little secluded. It is perfect for a nice day on the beach and dip in the warm watter.

Hi:

I spent my honeymoon in St. Lucia June of last year and had a wonderful time. You can read my full trip report and see pictures at www.seashelltravel.com

We did the sunset cruise on the Brig Unicorn which was lots of fun. We went to the dinner and floor show at The Bang, which was well worth the money. We spent time at both the Hiltons and Anse Chastanet's beach. We took a water taxi one day so we could see the Pitons from the water. We went to Pegion Island one day whch was lots of fun and the views were great.

Do read my trip report for more details

If you want a really active adventure, try "St. Lucia Jungle Biking"! The have a great informative website which I can't remember right now! Great suspension bikes on wonderful well groomed trails. Trails are available for all fitness levels and every trail leads back to start so there is no fear of getting lost. My husband is much more of a hard core rider than I, and he found the trails challenging. I took a more leisurly ride and enjoyed watching the birds, picking up hermit crabs (that was the coolest thing except they venture onto the trails which is somewhat life threating for the poor little guys!), and bathing in a small swimming hole. So if you go, bring a bathing suit - there is a lot of shade, but it gets hot and the water is cool and refreshing in the pond. Also, Jungle biking includes a free water bottle and water is available. We both really enjoyed our experience - Great informed staff that believe in safety first! I recommend booking it yourself and arranging your own transportation. Hotels have tours, but it usually comes out more expensive that way and the tour groups sometimes have a minimum number of people in orde to run the tour.

Have an awesome trip!
