St. Lucia
My daughter is getting married at the Viceroy Sugar Beach Resort. I am considering staying in a villa up the road. Can anyone tell me the pros and cons of the extra expense in staying at this resort? Will it be difficult to drive or walk the 1-2 miles? Thank you

You won't be able to walk. You'll have to drive or take a jitney (and I'm not 100% certain how they work in the south, but I do know they are cheap). The Viceroy is down an extremely steep mountain road and it alone is almost a half-mile. Even the staff get a ride from the top.
Frankly, I wouldn't recommend it. Being at the resort is going to be a much nicer experience, and it's not so easy or cheap to drive in St. Lucia. |
Thank you

In your submission, you said that your daughter IS getting married there, so that decision has already been made. It is a fabulous place to stay. I knew it very well under its previous name.
Staying there after the wedding will largely depend on how long and what type of vacation you are looking for. If you let me now the answer I will try my best to advise you. I know the island very well as I was born there and visit frequently also owning a vacation property there. In any case do not be afraid of the steep road as it will not negatively affect staying there. |
Thank you. We have have five days prior to the wedding and two days after the wedding. Can you tell me which activities not to miss while we are there?
